I am looking for personal care for a Man

Drivers licence required: No

Hours per week:

Monday/Tuesday: 10.00am-2.00pm and 4.00-8.00pm Wednesday: 10.00am-2.00pm Thursday: 4.00-8.00pm Shift times can be a little bit flexible. Also cover needed for holidays/sickness

Hourly pay rate:

£12.50

I am a disabled man in my early 40s. I have cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus.

I use an inside/outside electric wheelchair.

I am looking for a reliable, trustworthy and respectful PA to help with my daily living activities.

Duties will include providing personal care including using a hoist, meal preparation, domestic/household tasks and social activities.

I am jolly and happy go lucky but sometimes have my down days.

The successful applicant will be someone who is firm and can motivate/encourage me.

I have a keen interest in football and tennis, so the right person may be asked to accompany me to matches occasionally.

I also enjoy playing board games like draughts.

A driver willing to use my motability car would be preferable but this is not essential as we may be able to use public transport instead.

You should be experienced in providing care, very patient, able to use your own initiative and have the ability to explain things clearly and be adapatable with communication.

Flexibility needed on shift times and a willingness to provide cover for holidays/sickness periods required.

This is a rewarding role with all professional training provided

I smoke occasionally and you must also be comfortable with cats

You will report to me as your employer

Duties include:

Candidate qualities:

  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
  • Happy to work in a smoking environment

  • Experienced in providing care and using a hoist.
  • A driver and willing to drive my motability car would be useful but not essential
  • Would need to be over 25 years of age to drive motability car
  • Over 25 for car insurance purposes
  • Firm and able to motivate and encourage me.
  • Able to explain things clearly and adaptable when communicating.
  • Comfortable with cats and willing to assist employer with looking after his cat, taking cat to the vets.
