Independent Lives provides a wide range of helpful workbooks to help Personal Assistants and Carers.
Workbooks are designed for you work on at your own pace and will help you to improve your knowledge and learn new skills. Browse our current selection of workbooks below and purchase using our website.
Independent Lives has been awarded funding from the Department of Health and Social Care to provide free training courses and workbooks for those who employ their own PAs. This will run until 28th February 2027, subject to availability.
This funding is available for Individual Employers living in England, aged 18 and over who employ their own PAs or contract* self-employed PAs, using either:
- their own money
- adult social care Direct Payments
- NHS Personal Health Budgets.
*'Contracted' refers to PAs with true self-employed status. Evidence of self-employed may be needed prior to accessing training.
