Hourly pay rate:

£15.00

We are looking for an experienced, pro-active Support Worker to work with our 18 year old son who has Autism.

His interests include manga comics, Pokemon, Transformers and Anime.

You would be required to prompt/encourage him to become more independent with personal care tasks, cleaning/tidying his room, doing his own laundry and keeping him company when parents are out.

Also to support him with planning journeys, using public transport and building social relationships outside of the home.  Will need to be kept safe and supervised at all times.

Experience of working with young people with Autism is essential.  You should also be reliable, pro-active and able to encourage and motivate and share his interests.

We live in Hurstpierpoint so you would need to be a car driver or live locally.  We also have 2 dogs and a cat and our son has a tortoise.

Duties include:

  • Companionship

  • Prompting/encouraging to become independent with personal care tasks, keeping room clean and tidy and doing own laundry.
  • Supporting with planning journeys and using public transport.
  • Support with developing friendships outside of the home, accessing community facilities.
  • Keeping safe at all times.

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
