I am looking to employ someone to accompany my elderly husband, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, to safely access his local community.
This will sometimes be walking with him and other times driving him in your own vehicle.
He has good and bad days depending on how his disabilities are affecting him, so the support required can vary.
He is able to access his local community without the use of walking aids but is no longer safe to go out on his own.
As my husband values his independence, the relationship between him and a PA would partly be based on a type of buddy/friend arrangement.
He enjoys going to his local café and looking in shops but can sometimes become disorientated and forget where he is going or take a wrong turn on the way home.
He enjoys walking around the local pond and is very knowledgeable on wildlife.
The PA will be required to build up a rapport with my husband before venturing into the local community.
His condition can mean that he is not always too aware of general day to day dangers
My own health conditions prevent me from supporting my husband as much as I used to or would like to.
Duties include:
Assisting customer to safely access their local community.
