Hourly pay rate:
£16 per hour. Mileage @45p per mile

We are looking for one or two self-employed PAs to support our 56-year-old son, who has Down Syndrome and Dementia. The role will involve taking him out and about and access groups whilst keeping him safe.
Every day is different with our son; he has days when he struggles to focus and on other days, he is sociable and keen. He attends a day service a few days during the week and a craft group which he loves. He finds the transition from one environment to another confusing and can be uncooperative at times, so your patience to help him prepare and adapt will be key.
Currently the support is led by how he is feeling, you will need to be engaging, adaptable offering him encouragement. He likes going for a drive in the car, for short walks and loves to sketch. Part of the role would be to expand these activities, exploring other dementia friendly groups and activities that he can access.
Experience of Dementia would be preferable.
