2-4 - one or two afternoons Monday to Thursday - quite flexible about times and days.

Hourly pay rate:

£20

I am looking for someone who can take my Dad out for a few hours a week and give my Mum some respite.

My dad is in his mid 80’s and enjoys going out for coffee and cake and is interested in wildlife, music, different modes of transport and DIY.

He has been affected by dementia since 2020 but still manages to get out and about with support.

He loves dogs so if you have a pet dog you are welcome to bring it along so that he can enjoy your four-legged companion.

Duties include:

  • Transportation
  • Companionship

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful

We’re looking for someone who is cheerful and patient and who understands the basic issues of what living with dementia is like.

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
