Hours per week:

Up to 5 hours per week on a casual basis, ideally on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Please apply with your availability.

Hourly pay rate:

£12.21 per hour. Mileage @ 45p per mile

I am looking for a calm and resourceful personal assistant for my 6-year-old son, to support him to get out and about and participate in activities he loves whilst keeping him safe.

My son is a strong, taller than the average 6-year-old, sweet and loving, who makes close connections with someone once he gets to know them.  He seeks lots of sensory, physical input and is his happiest when exploring outdoors and being in green spaces. If you enjoy being outside in all weathers, this might be a good a role for you.

My son can also display some challenging behaviours. Routines are very important for him and transitions can be tricky, so you need to be organised, reliable, adapting to situations as they arise.

Experience of Autism would be useful, but an open-minded person, ready to take the time and learn about my son’s needs is more important.  Building a relationship with him will be very important.

Duties include:

  • Personal grooming
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Transportation
  • Companionship
  • Dressing / undressing
  • Bathroom assistance

Accessing social and leisure activities e.g. Parks, nature – green spaces, swimming, beach etc..

Pushing his paediatric pushchair on longer days out when required

Assistance with medication if required i.e. using an asthma pump

Whilst at home, participating in activities e.g. sensory activities, baking etc

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
