Personal Assistant for September 2024 (fixed term contract)

Drivers licence required: No

Hours per week:

Term time, Monday-Friday, school pick up and drop off times.

Hourly pay rate:

£12 per trip (bank holidays/inset days and/or any additional hours if available, will be paid at £12 per hour)

Do  you have a bit of time to spare during the school term times?

We are looking for a kind, patient, empathetic PA to take our 10-year-old boy to and from school and help develop his independence skills to do this by himself in the future.

He is a very sensitive, friendly boy who is obsessed with videogames and Youtube! Having a friendly face to meet him and chat along with on his school runs would help our family immensely.

The role would very occasionally involve taking him to access social and leisure activities.

The post will run from September 2024 until the end of the school year, July 2025.

Duties include:

  • Transportation
  • Companionship

  • Accompany him on the walk to and from school.
  • Wearing a mask in enclosed spaces is preferred -e.g. in the house at pick ups/drop offs


Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality

  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • Experience of children (through work or life experiences) would be useful.

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours, Vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
