Hours required are weekends and around / during college holidays. Flexibility is essential.

Hourly pay rate:

£14.00 minimum, depending on experience. Mileage rate: 45p per mile

I am looking for a PA to support my 17 year old son. He is a very happy young man who is into fashion and design, is very creative and has a big personality. He has a diagnosis of Asperger’s syndrome, ADHD & sensory processing disorder. He also has a diagnosis of Scheuermann’s disease which affects his spine. Though he can express his wants and needs verbally, he does require gentle support & guidance with all forms of communication, particularly socially.

Your role as a PA will involve assisting him with daily activities, plus supporting him to develop his life skills, independence and confidence with activities such as going to the shops, money management, cooking, maintaining a safe and habitable home, and accessing the community.

Duties include:

  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Housekeeping
  • Shopping
  • Cooking
  • Transportation
  • Companionship

  • Support my son to talk about & understand his emotions (informing me of any concerns)
  • Supporting with physiotherapy exercises / O.T. recommendations as needed
  • Supervising at all times and keeping him focused on tasks
  • Support to develop social and independent living skills, whilst gaining confidence in himself and through new experiences.
  • Driving him or accompanying him on public transport / walking with as needed, when accessing the community.
  • Support with planning ahead for activities, including timing, transport, budgeting & paying for.

  • Driver with own car preferred

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
