I am looking for personal care for a Child

The candidate should be a woman

Drivers licence required: Yes

Own vehicle needed: Yes

Hours per week:

3-4 hours weekly, Saturday or Sunday, with some full and half days during school holidays

I am a 12 year old girl needing support with accessing social and leisure activities.

I enjoy swimming, going to the cinema and park, baking and just having fun! I am lively, sociable and talkative and need a PA to support me with my ASD and ADHD.

You will need to put in boundaries and encourage me to make choices which are in my best interest. I will also need some help with improving my awareness of road safety.

You would need to have a full UK drivers license and access to your own vehicle.

Duties include:

  • Shopping
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Cooking

Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
Prompting to Use the toilet and hand wash after
Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting employer to get changed at swimming pool.
Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping trips when required
Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities.
Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required
Driving and accompanying to social events such as:
Accompanying on trips out e.g. to take photographs at the beach or in the woods or, visiting friends.
Accompanying on trips out e.g. to the garden centre, beach, cinema, craft fairs, local visits, out shopping for fun and attending social events
The above duties will involve driving the employer in the PA's car.

  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
