Hours per week:
Tues 14.00-21.30 Weds 14.00-21.00 Thurs 14.00-21.30 Fri 14.00-21.00 Sat 09.30-13.00 & 17.00-21.00 Sun 17.00-21.00 and then 09.30-13.00 fortnightly
Hourly pay rate:
£12.35 per hour

A full-time wheelchair user, I'm a young-at-heart 43 year old busy Mum to an 18 and 19 year old and am seeking Personal Assistants to support me.
Outgoing and bubbly in nature with a wicked sense of humour, I enjoy long beach visits, eating out, going to the cinema and spending time with my family and friends to name but a few of my past-times, all whilst being accompanied by my cheeky sidekick, my wonderful assistance dog.
In brief, your role will include supporting me with personal care tasks, all aspects of running a home and accessing social activities. You should be motivated, cheerful, understanding and dependable.
Most importantly you should be reliable and punctual as well as discreet and respectful of my privacy.
This is a fun job where the right person and I will have many laughs along the way!
Duties include:
- Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
- Changing bed linen
- Bed making
- Minor household maintenance e.g. changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing
- Assist with grooming dog (training provided) – employer would help
- Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
- Getting into bed
- Help getting into and out of shower as required
- Assistance with applying cream and make up
- General hair/skin care
- Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities
- Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required
- Physio/hydro appointments
- Accompanying when clothes-buying, including help with un/dressing and lifting clothes on/off the rails.
- Occasional longer journeys
- Accompanying on trips out e.g. to the library, the vet, meditation classes, to see family
- Driving and accompanying to social events such as:
- Cinema
- Evening meetings
- Accompanying on trips out e.g. to take photographs at the beach or in the woods or, visiting friends.
- Accompanying on trips out e.g. to the garden centre, beach, cinema, craft fairs, local visits, out shopping for fun, attending social events, attending therapies and disability group
- Accompanying to social meetings e.g. friends, family
- Whilst on duty at the employer’s home watching TV and assisting with craft activities
Candidate qualities:
- Will be required to take regular lateral flow tests weekly
- Driver with a UK driving licence essential – you will be required to drive me in my own adapted vehicle
Additional requirements
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
