We are looking for a vibrant proactive team of PAs with high standards of SEN experience, education and/or training.to help with some or all of the following
accompany our son to and from his week time adult day services (10hrs plus mileage)
take him out into the community for an activity session/swimming etc. on certain weekdays (4hrs)
take him out for weekend activities (4hrs)
provide overnight care work occasionally (8hrs)
He has a rare chromosome syndrome which presents with severe learning disabilities, communication difficulties (non-verbal), personal care requirements and the need for 1:1 help in all areas.
He is a delightful young man with a wonderful sense of humour who loves nature, the beach, water, swimming, music, walking and being outdoors.
Duties include:
We would like to build up a team who are able to help overnight on an ad hoc basis, so we are also interested in applicants who have experience of working night respite care.
Candidate qualities:
- Experience and/or training in SEND education
- Experience and/or training in alternative communication methods e.g. PECS
- Experience and/or training in sensory processing disorders
- Experience and/or training in personal care
Additional requirements
Non-smoker due to medical reasons, Vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission
