Do you like going to the theatre, shopping and have a good sense of humour? Then this is the role for you. I am looking for a team of two PA's to support me 24/7 to live in my own home. You would work a week on and have a week off.
I am a 44 year old lady, I live in a flat, which has been specially adapted to suit my needs. Following an accident in 2008, I have locked in syndrome. I am fiercely independent and am looking for a team of PA's who will work with me to promote my independence and support me to live the life I want to lead.
I communicate using a rainbow communication board, and am able to use my eyes to indicate yes or no to closed questions.
My support would roughly be between 08.00 and 22.30/23.00, there is a two hour break daily. This is usually taken in the afternoon, but is dependent on what is happening on a particular day. Between the hours of 23.00 and 08.00, you would do a sleep in duty, there is a separate bedroom for you to use. I wake rarely in the night, but need to know there is someone there, just in case.
Duties include:
- I use a hoist, so previous experience of using a hoist would be beneficial. Training can be provided.
- I have my own vehicle and love going out and about, someone prepared to drive my van would be great.
