I am looking for personal care for a Woman

Drivers licence required: No

Hours per week:

6 hours a week, split across Monday afternoon & Thursday morning occasionally it may be necessary to do the full 6 hours on a Friday. There is now an option to do a Wednesday as well

Hourly pay rate:

£12 per hour

I am looking for an organised, positive person to support me to manage my administration tasks such as bill paying, sorting out insurances etc enabling me to become more independent to manage this myself.

I would also like support to join new courses, clubs and trying new avenues, accompanying me initially whilst I gain confidence to be able to go on my own.

I enjoy being out in the fresh air and like visiting gardens and woodlands so would like someone to accompany me on the occasional day out.

I am energetic, friendly and extremely keen to try new things but just lacking in confidence due to previous mental health issues

I have a friendly dog, which will sometimes be with me during support sessions, so a dog friendly person is ideal.

Duties include:

  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Administration
  • Companionship

To assist and support me with admin duties such as:

  • Banking,
  • Opening and sorting my mail
  • Writing letters and emails Filling in forms – good knowledge of benefits would be ideal
  • Making phone calls on my behalf
  • Arranging and reminding me of appointments
  • To accompany and support me when accessing the community and activities that I enjoy e.g. swimming, pottery, arts and crafts.
  • To help me find and access new activities, if they take my interest and meaningful activities, such as voluntary opportunities

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Must be comfortable with pets
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • Have good organizational skills
  • Be good with admin tasks – help with opening and responding to any mail, emails or phone calls.
  • Be good with computers, phones and hand held devices.
  • Be friendly with a good sense of humour and be a good sympathetic listener.
  • I like to walk and can do so at quite a fast pace, so must be fit enough for this.
  • Be helpful with any benefit or housing issues, as and when required.
  • Be a good motivator.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively and speak, read and write in English.

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
