I am looking for personal care for a Woman

The candidate should be a woman

Drivers licence required: Yes

Hours per week:

Up to 33 hours per week- mainly weekdays, some evenings and overnights.

Hourly pay rate:

£87 per night sleep over, £11.70 per hour weekends and late evenings, £10.00 per hour during the week.

We are looking for a personal assistant to join our team, supporting our 38 year old daughter. She is affectionate and non-challenging, loves music, cinema and playing on her Ipad.

Duties include:

  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Personal grooming
  • Eating and drinking assistance
  • Moving and handling
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Administration
  • Housekeeping
  • Shopping
  • Cooking
  • Transportation
  • Companionship
  • Looking after pets
  • Dressing / undressing
  • Bathroom assistance

  • Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
  • Bed making and changing bed linen
  • Taking out rubbish
  • Ordering medication and night time pads
  • Keeping employer’s Motability car clean inside and using car wash as necessary
  • Helping to look after a bouncy collie (now 2 years old) and assist employer to play with him
  • Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
  • Help getting into and out of bath/shower
  • Assistance with applying deodorant and body/face cream
  • General hair/skin/nail care
  • Getting into bed
  • Physiotherapy exercises if necessary
  • Wake up and respond to employer as required during night shifts
  • Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required
  • Accompanying when clothes-buying, including help with un/dressing
  • Occasional longer journeys to see family
  • Accompanying on trips out e.g. to the library, the cinema, theatre, occasional pub lunch, to see family or friends
  • Accompanying on trips out eg to the garden centre, beach, amusements, craft fairs, local visits, attending hairdresser, therapies and disability group
  • The above duties will involve driving the employer in her motability car and keeping her safe when walking

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Must be comfortable with pets
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • Able to communicate clearly with all other members of the family and care team, both in person and through the communication diary
  • Must be comfortable with a bouncy Collie

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
