I am looking for personal care for a Woman
The candidate should be a woman
Drivers licence required: Yes
Hours per week:
Up to 33 hours per week- mainly weekdays, some evenings and overnights.
Hourly pay rate:
£87 per night sleep over, £11.70 per hour weekends and late evenings, £10.00 per hour during the week.
We are looking for a personal assistant to join our team, supporting our 38 year old daughter. She is affectionate and non-challenging, loves music, cinema and playing on her Ipad.
Duties include:
- Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
- Bed making and changing bed linen
- Taking out rubbish
- Ordering medication and night time pads
- Keeping employer’s Motability car clean inside and using car wash as necessary
- Helping to look after a bouncy collie (now 2 years old) and assist employer to play with him
- Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
- Help getting into and out of bath/shower
- Assistance with applying deodorant and body/face cream
- General hair/skin/nail care
- Getting into bed
- Physiotherapy exercises if necessary
- Wake up and respond to employer as required during night shifts
- Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required
- Accompanying when clothes-buying, including help with un/dressing
- Occasional longer journeys to see family
- Accompanying on trips out e.g. to the library, the cinema, theatre, occasional pub lunch, to see family or friends
- Accompanying on trips out eg to the garden centre, beach, amusements, craft fairs, local visits, attending hairdresser, therapies and disability group
- The above duties will involve driving the employer in her motability car and keeping her safe when walking
Candidate qualities:
- Able to communicate clearly with all other members of the family and care team, both in person and through the communication diary
- Must be comfortable with a bouncy Collie
Additional requirements
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
