I am an 18-year-old female who is looking for a same sex personal assistant to join my existing care team.
Living with Autism, ADHD, and mental health complexities has been restricting throughout my childhood and as I transition to adulthood, I would like to gain confidence and independence from Mum to access the community, try new things, make new friends, and meet personal goals with the support of a trusted PA.

The role would be ideally suited to someone starting or looking to progress/diversify their career.
The role is initially for 3 hours per week, (Thursdays) with the intention of increasing hours once a relationship is established.

Duties include:

  • Transportation
  • Companionship

  • Encourage and assist preparing lunches and snacks
  • To assist with building confidence and independence away from Mum.
  • Encourage and participate in community activities; i.e., shopping, physical exercise, bowling, mini golf, cinema, peer group activities, etc.
  • Accompany/transport to educational placements and appointments.

The ideal candidate would be:

  • Dog lover
  • Experience / knowledge / awareness of Autism / Mental Health / ADHD or experience of working with similar
  • Approachable, non-judgemental, sensitive with approach and empathic
  • Willing to support and join in with activities
  • Work with the current MDT and undergo further training to support role where applicable
  • Strong active listening skills
  • Approachable, non-judgemental, patient, possess excellent interpersonal skills, sensitivity, and empathy
  • Youthful outlook, honest, fun loving, and cheerful
  • Willing to undergo further training to support role

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
