I am looking for personal care for a Man

Drivers licence required: Yes

Own vehicle needed: Yes

Hours per week:

3 Hours per week, times and days to be discussed.

Hourly pay rate:

£12.00ph and Mileage at 35p per mile

The job involves helping the client to overcome his anxieties, working towards re-establishing relationships with family and friends, initially through texts and emails, and eventually in person; being able to leave his home with a minimum of discomfort, initially accompanied, to local shops, progressing to leisure activities (e.g. cinema, swimming, museums) and using public transport.

The role also involves assisting him towards greater independence in daily living skills.

Duties include:

  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful

  • Must be comfortable with pets
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • Autism specific training, e.g. NAS ‘Understanding and Supporting Autistic People’, NAS ‘Supporting Autistic People Using the SPELL Framework’, NAS ‘Understanding Stress and Anxiety in Autism’.
  • Experienced in working with adults with ASD and severe anxiety.
  • Good standards of hygiene (but no strong-smelling toiletries).
  • Able to modulate speech/behaviour to accommodate client’s sensory difficulties.
  • Comfortable with cats.
  • Flexibility required regarding times of working due to sleep disorder.

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours, Vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
