I am an outgoing young adult and I enjoy chat and meet people as well as getting out and about. I like music and dancing. At home I watch telly and movies. I also like comedy, enjoy a good laugh, and try not to take life too seriously. I like to go out for walks using my walker, shopping, swimming and also to restaurants.

This role is to help me with some daily living tasks that are a struggle for me to do independently. This includes personal care, domestic tasks, feeding and cleaning.

A like-minded Personal Assistant who is happy to help me to promote my independence, have a chat and a laugh while doing it would be ideal.

Initially to work on every Monday and possibly cover holidays on other days.

Duties include:

  • Personal grooming
  • Eating and drinking assistance
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Housekeeping
  • Shopping
  • Cooking
  • Transportation
  • Companionship
  • Dressing / undressing

Mealtimes e.g. serving, cutting up food, and feeding.

Driving me in your car and accompany when accessing/attending social and leisure activities and trips out including but not limited to:

  • swimming lessons
  • clothes-buying - including help with un/dressing and lifting clothes on/off the rails
  • shopping for fun
  • Cinema
  • Church
  • garden centre
  • beach
  • cinema
  • craft fairs
  • local visits
  • attending social events, therapies and disability group
  • social meetings with friends and family

Candidate qualities:

  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

Must have own vehicle and insurance for business use to transport me in your car.

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
