Hi,

We are looking for a PA to have fun with our 15 year old daughter. She has developmental delay and epilepsy.

Our daughter is brilliant and loves singing, dancing, reading and shopping. Ideally, we are looking for a PA who shares her interests so she can get as much enjoyment out of your time with her as possible.

She has great understanding and loves when people use Makaton, although she does not use this much herself. It’s not an essential that you know any but maybe a willingness to learn would be beneficial.

Our daughter is very easy going and can communicate her wants and needs very well. She is a great person to be around so we feel this could be very rewarding.

Duties include:

  • Personal grooming
  • Eating and drinking assistance
  • Moving and handling
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Bathroom assistance

  • Personal care including bathroom assistance.
  • Moving and handling. Our daughter is able to walk but will use a wheelchair depending on the day
  • And lots of fun!

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Notes:

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
