Hours per week:

Monday to Friday 7.45 -9.15 (1.5 hours per day) (possible flexibility in exact time or extra hours)

An enthusiastic, cheerful, and reliable female support worker/s needed to help get me up in the morning. I am a 25-year-old young woman with cerebral palsy needing help with all my personal care. I love to chat, watch DVDs, and look forward to my day ahead.

  • I enjoy watching DVD’s and love to chat. I look forward to the day ahead.
  • I have cerebral palsy and need help with all tasks due to my physical limitations.
  • I use a powered wheelchair as I cannot walk but I am good at doing standing transfers with help.
  • My Mum will help you with some of the tasks as I prefer to transfer using a turner not a hoist.
  • I have some speech, but you will need to get to know me to understand me.
  • Training will be given, and a care plan is in place for you to follow.

Duties include:

  • Personal grooming
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Housekeeping
  • Dressing / undressing
  • Bathroom assistance

Candidate qualities:

  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Must be comfortable with pets
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
