£25 per hour

I am seeking a dedicated gym buddy to accompany me to the gym and serve as my communicator guide.  Fitness is important to me, and I aim to maintain a regular gym routine.  The ideal candidate will have qualifications or equivalent experience at Level 2 in Communicating and Guiding and be fluent in British Sign Language (BSL).

Duties include:

To assist, guide and communicate with me while I use and navigate around a gym.

Location: Purley / Croydon / London (depending on venue)

Gym Chain: Better Leisure

If you currently use a regular venue that is not local to me, I will assess if I can travel there independently using public transport to meet you.

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • Qualified or equivalent experience to Level 2 in Communicating and Guiding
  • Fluency in British Sign Language (BSL)
  • Self-employed (must provide evidence) or willing to establish self-employment for this role
