Hours per week:
2 waking nights per week, 9.00pm-8.00am plus ad-hoc nights as required
Hourly pay rate:
£15.00
This is an exciting and purposeful PA role, assisting a 15 year old clever girl with a physical disability to lead a fulfilling life.
She is a very cheerful young girl, studying in year 10. She enjoys croquet, listening to music and watching sitcom series (Friends).
You would be required to provide waking night support, including all personal care tasks, hoisting/transferring, physio exercises, gastrostomy feeding, administering medication, fitting Bipap ventilator, steriling equipment.
You should be enthusiastic, positive, reliable, flexible and passionate about the role.
Previous experience in health care section would be advantageous but not essential as full specialist induction and training will be provided prior to the commencement of the job.
You would report to her parents who are the employers.
Duties include:
- Assisting with general upper and lower limb physiotherapy
- Oral hygiene
- Transferring in/out of wheelchair using a hoist
- Fitting the Bipap ventilator at night
- Chest physio/cough assist at night and morning
- Following the correct procedure for moving and handling
- Handling postural management in bed and wheelchair
- Maintaining sterility of equipment
- Correcting overnight feeds through gastrostomy

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
