Female Personal Care Assistant
I am a lady in my 50s looking for support with independent living tasks. I have mobility issues and use a wheelchair outdoors.
I also experience chronic pain, fatigue and brain fog.
I need support with accessing the community, personal care and domestic tasks.
You should be a driver with your own car and also willing to drive a wheelchair accessible car when needed. Mileage will be reimbursed when accompanying me out.
Experience of providing care and support required. Experience of hoisting required or a willingness to learn.
You must be friendly, caring, patient, and trustworthy.
- Dressing / undressing
- Bathroom assistance
- Medication prompting/administering
- Moving and handling
- Other relevant duties as required
Minor household maintenance eg changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing
Making phone calls on my behalf when I am too unwell to do this
Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting employer to get washed/dried and dressed/undressed at swimming pool. Using a hoist at the swimming pool.
Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping trips when required e.g. garden centre
Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities e.g. swimming pool
Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required
Accompanying when clothes-buying, including help with un/dressing and lifting clothes on/off the rails.
Occasional longer journeys
Accompanying on trips out e.g. to the library, to see family/friends, garden centre, beach, countryside.
The above duties will involve driving the employer in the PA’s car, or using a wheelchair accessible car. Lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the employer’s wheelchair when out. Alternatively, I would use my walking stick.
