Our daughter is a happy and cheeky young lady who knows her own mind, who enjoys being out in nature, music and swimming. She is a full time wheelchair user and requires hoisting at home, tube feeding for nutrition and meds and is non verbal (although she always has a lot to say).

We are looking for someone to help after school and early evening and /or Saturdays to be a companion and help with her daily routine.

Training can be provided and we offer good rates of pay and flexibility on hours and times which are around 16 hours a week term time, increasing in holidays.

 

Duties include:

  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Personal grooming
  • Eating and drinking assistance
  • Moving and handling
  • Clinical tasks
  • Transportation
  • Companionship
  • Dressing / undressing
  • Bathroom assistance

Candidate qualities:

  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Must be comfortable with pets
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Additional requirements

Non-smoker due to medical reasons, Vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission
