I am looking for personal care for a Child

The candidate should be a woman

Drivers licence required: Yes

Own vehicle needed: Yes

Hours per week:

3 hours a week (actual days and time by mutual agreement)

Hourly pay rate:

£12.00 per hour + mileage @ 40p per mile

Our nearly 7 year old daughter is our little angel of the family! She is always happy, loves to interact with everyone liking eye contact and attention. She is guaranteed to giggle when you talk to her.

She loves being outside, going in her wheelchair, exploring children's farms and animals and swimming.

We are looking for an attentive PA, to help her explore the world outside her school and home environment, engaging her in activities she enjoys keeping her safe.

This is a rewarding role and training will be offered.

Duties include:

  • Eating and drinking assistance
  • Transportation
  • Dressing / undressing

  • Nappy changing
  • Accompanying on trips out with employer’s daughter  e.g. (park, swimming) keeping her safe.
  • The above duties will involve driving the employer in the PA’s car
  • Whilst on duty at the employer’s home watching TV and assisting with craft activities
  • Lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the manual wheelchair when out.

  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
