I am looking for personal care for a Man

Drivers licence required:

Hours per week:

12hours per week - 4 hours per day as a split shift between 08:30 and 10:30 and 15:00 and 17:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Hourly pay rate:

:£12.50

A part time driving role supporting a young man with learning difficulties and autism to and from his day centre in Cranleigh. The role is 4 hours per day as a split shift between 08:30 and 10:30 and 15:00 and 17:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is no flexibility on these dates or times but we will consider applications from candidates able to work two of the three days.

Duties include:

  • Transportation
  • Companionship

  • Driving the Motability car to and from Burgess Hill and Cranfield
  • Supporting the man from the car into the centre and back
  • Driving to all road rules and regulations and ensuring a safe journey
  • Quickly establishing positive and professional relationship with the man, his parents, and the key people at the day centre

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Previous experience of supporting someone with a disability is not essential as full training will be given but it is important that you enjoy helping others and have good interpersonal skills. There is no personal care.

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
