Hours are 10 hours per week in the school holidays.
Hourly pay rate:
£14.25 per hour
Carer required in Chichester to work with my 9 year old son.
Experience with Autism preferred but training will be given. Offer of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
The role is to assist my son on trips out as well as assisting him at home with his chosen activities.
Trips will include walks, swimming, park, garden centres. Very much outdoor activities.
Duties include:
- Tidying and washing up after my child if needed for example making a meal, or after messy activity.
- Occasional making his bed and tidying of his room.
- Giving require verbal encouragement to use the toilet.
- Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons/fastenings. Shoes and socks.
- Will need help to clean his teeth and wipe face.
- Mealtimes e.g. preparing meals and snacks. Cutting up food, assistance to eat may be required as well as verbal encouragement.
- Help with drying, dressing and undressing during certain activity (swimming)
- To take my son out on trips and leisure activities.
- Accompany on social events meeting family and friends.
- Helping him to assess the community.
- Able to assist my son during unpredictable meltdowns.
Candidate qualities:
- Experience with Autism preferred but training will be given
- Driver preferred but not essential
- Someone who calm, patient and gentle in their approach
- Open minded to following a relaxed low demand child led household.
- Comfortable around dogs, we have a lively 18 mth old puppy
