I'm a very positive person despite having many things wrong with me, especially physically. I have a very good sense of humour but equally can still stand up for myself when I need to in life.

I have a wonderful little Shippoo dog called Charlie and he is great company, very much a mummy's boy but also very friendly. So, you will need to be a dog lover.

It would also help if you have a car that can take a wheelchair for me as I have hospital and doctor appointments to attend at times.

The job is very varied and no two days are the same. It will include helping with personal care, changing beds, keeping hygiene area's clean, washing my hair,  cooking, hoovering, making sandwiches, going to the post office to my money etc etc. I'm interested in many things and am quite a chatty person so we will never be short of conversation,  however equally if I'm having a bad day I might nod off while you are busy doing things lol and you may have to wake me up for lunch. It would be useful if you are experienced in people who go unconscious or if you are aware of the symptoms of a stroke or heart attack as I have experienced all of this and would need someone who could act quickly in one of those situations.

The hours are every other weekend mornings 2 hours 10.30am to 12.30pm can be increased to 3 hours if we find we need it. These hours are flexible, as long as they can incorporate cooking my lunch for 12.30pm.
I'm also looking for every weekend evening around 5pm to 6pm to help with getting my tea, making a snack for later and helping me to bed.
Monday morning is also available if you are interested, hours to be negotiated.

Duties include:

  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Cooking

We also need to take my daily observations,  blood pressure,  oxygen as well as taking my pulse and temperature. I can train you to do this if necessary.

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
