Our customer can speak verbally, and has a wide vocabulary, however will be more open once he’s gotten to know you. Once there is trust, and a sense of security, a good relationship can be built between the customer and the PAs. The PA's will need to be firm around supporting the customer to maintain boundaries.

The PA will need to be supportive in the customer making decisions, and be patient so they can make decisions in their own time, when comfortable in doing so. Visual aids like calendars and social stories can help him understand and feel more secure with what's happening. The PA's will need to be proactive in supporting the customer to access the community and gradually build a weekly timetable of activities.
