PA profiles

Choice and control are at the heart of everything we do. Our personal assistant database directly connects Direct Payment employers with PAs who are available for work in your area.

By bringing together PAs and employers, we support people to live more independent lives. Search our database and take the first step towards finding your new PA today.

Use the filter on the left of the page to search profiles. Click on the PAs name to find out more about them and get in touch.

Please note: The personal assistants in our database are not employed or recommended by Independent Lives.

In most cases, personal assistants are required to pass a DBS check and reference checks before beginning employment, which Independent Lives can support you with.

To speak to a member of staff about any of the profiles listed on this site then please contact us by emailing recruitment@independentlives.org or by phoning 01903 219482 (option 4).

Hello, I’m Louise, a local carer with over 20 years of experience supporting vulnerable adults and the elderly. I’ve also spent time volunteering with the Red Cross, which has given me valuable skills and insights into care.

My approach is centred around each individual, understanding that every client has unique needs and goals. I work closely with clients, their families, and local healthcare professionals to build strong, trusting relationships and achieve the best outcomes.

I am a fun, bubbly PA looking for some more clients to fit in around running my own business! I’m a pet sitter/dog walker and love animals as well as helping others. I don’t drive and understand this may be a requirement of the role but if you are open to a non driver I’m more than happy to utilise other options!

I have varying availability but please contact me and we can see if I would be a good fit :)

I have worked in social care on and off most of my adult life. From Nursing homes to private homes. I grew up in various adult social care settings Psychiatric Clinics, residential care homes and a residential home for people suffering mental health. Also Hellingly Hospital as my parents were RMNs.

Also I have worked as a passenger assistant for a taxi company taking SEND children to school and home and for children in the care system.

I love caring for people and assisting to make lives easier. Whether it be some personal care, cleaning, organising or shopping.

The best care I did was having the privilege to care for my gran in the last few months of her life, being able to pay her back for the love and support she’d shown me through my life. It was an absolute honour that I will treasure.

My motivation is being able to see people able to live independently and thrive.
In my own time I love gardening, DIY, spending time with my family and friends.

I am a 36-year-old father of two with a lifelong passion for empowering others and making a positive impact in people’s lives. My professional journey began in East London, where I developed strong values of community, resilience, and hard work—principles that have guided me through an accomplished career as a professional athlete and later as a successful entrepreneur.

Throughout my athletic career, I had the privilege of working closely with individuals from all walks of life. These experiences taught me the importance of empathy, communication, and the power of mentorship. I bring these qualities into my work in personal care and social support, where I thrive in one-on-one settings and pride myself on building strong, trusting relationships.

I have spent many years living and working in the United States, collaborating with local authorities, schools, and community clubs to develop programs that promote positive change in the lives of young people. Much of this work has focused on supporting neurodiverse young adults, helping them navigate challenges and build confidence in their own abilities. I’ve found that my ability to listen without judgment, maintain a calm and encouraging presence, and adapt to individual needs has been instrumental in creating safe and empowering environments.

As someone who is deeply self-motivated, I bring high energy and a proactive mindset to every role I undertake. I believe in the importance of leading by example—whether it’s encouraging a young person to try something new or simply showing up with kindness and consistency each day. I’m practical, organized, and fully committed to the dignity and independence of the individuals I support.

Now based in East Sussex, I am seeking to bring my skills, lived experience, and passion for care into a role where I can make a meaningful difference. I understand the local community, and I am enthusiastic about contributing to a service that values respect, inclusion, and compassion.

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Extensive experience supporting neurodiverse young adults

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Positive, caring, and empathetic approach to care

  • Experience collaborating with community organizations and local authorities

  • Background in mentoring and behavior support

  • Highly self-motivated and reliable

  • Culturally aware and sensitive to individual needs

  • DBS-checked and committed to safeguarding practices (if applicable)

I would be honored to support individuals in East Sussex to lead fulfilling, independent lives and would welcome the opportunity to contribute to a team focused on genuine care and community development.

My names Tia, I’m 26 and I live with my Partner and 5 month old baby in Battle. I have a variety of hobbies and interests from mostly, singing Disney related theme songs to my Daughter to occasionally gaming on my Xbox.

I’m keen to commence a career in social care as I enjoyed personally assisting my Grandma with various functional, personal and domestic activities, however I require the time and patience to learn and develop as I’m Neurodivergent.

If you’re willing to give me a chance to ease myself back into work after an approximate 12 month hiatus, please do reach out and introduce yourself.

All the best,
Tia x

I qualified as a mental health nurse in 2007, and worked for several years in a variety of jobs related to this. I stepped back from nursing over 3 years ago, but miss having that connection with people and supporting them to be the best they can be whilst ensuring they maintain their autonomy.

I am new to the PA role but feel I have plenty of transferable skills-

I am patient and kind

I listen

I am empathic

I am able to build rapport quickly and enjoy learning peoples life stories

I have a good sense of humour!

When I am not working I like to read, do yoga, spend time in my garden, and most importantly train my dog and spend time with him.
