PA profiles

Choice and control are at the heart of everything we do. Our personal assistant database directly connects Direct Payment employers with PAs who are available for work in your area.

By bringing together PAs and employers, we support people to live more independent lives. Search our database and take the first step towards finding your new PA today.

Use the filter on the left of the page to search profiles. Click on the PAs name to find out more about them and get in touch.

Please note: The personal assistants in our database are not employed or recommended by Independent Lives.

In most cases, personal assistants are required to pass a DBS check and reference checks before beginning employment, which Independent Lives can support you with.

To speak to a member of staff about any of the profiles listed on this site then please contact us by emailing recruitment@independentlives.org or by phoning 01903 219482 (option 4).

My career transitioned from teaching to health and social care after caring for my grandmother post-stroke. This transformative experience ignited a passion that is following me ever since, I' m driven by making a real difference in the lives of those I assisted and cared for. My career spans roles as a live in carer, position in care homes, nursing homes and hospital. My dedication inspired me to pursue a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, through which I advanced to a senior position.

I have over 10 years of experience in working with people with support needs from 18 to 80 years old. Before becoming a PA I worked in housing for 5 years at Eastbourne Council and 5 years in Supported Accommodation at East Sussex County Council. I can support with taking up activities, getting out into the community and dealing with budgeting, benefits, correspondence and maintaining a tidy home. I can support with cooking, shopping, laundry, basic garden maintenance, internet and email.

I'm a great believer in Personalisation in the social care, health and housing sectors, giving people choice in how they receive their care and support. It is important to me that someone feels empowered to live their life as independently as possible whilst being supported when necessary and feeling in control of how that support is received.

I like being active as I believe this is important for wellbeing. I love playing walking football, tennis, practising Tai Chi and Qi Gong, being outside in nature including a bit of gardening and supporting my two teenage sons in their various pursuits. At the start of 2020 I completed a 2 year teacher-training course for Qi Gong and now teach classes via Zoom.  As well as speaking fluent French and German, I studied Spanish to AS level and have conversational Japanese.
