PA profiles
Choice and control are at the heart of everything we do. Our personal assistant database directly connects Direct Payment employers with PAs who are available for work in your area.
By bringing together PAs and employers, we support people to live more independent lives. Search our database and take the first step towards finding your new PA today.
Use the filter on the left of the page to search profiles. Click on the PAs name to find out more about them and get in touch.
Please note: The personal assistants in our database are not employed or recommended by Independent Lives.
In most cases, personal assistants are required to pass a DBS check and reference checks before beginning employment, which Independent Lives can support you with.

I am a 36-year-old father of two with a lifelong passion for empowering others and making a positive impact in people’s lives. My professional journey began in East London, where I developed strong values of community, resilience, and hard work—principles that have guided me through an accomplished career as a professional athlete and later as a successful entrepreneur.
Throughout my athletic career, I had the privilege of working closely with individuals from all walks of life. These experiences taught me the importance of empathy, communication, and the power of mentorship. I bring these qualities into my work in personal care and social support, where I thrive in one-on-one settings and pride myself on building strong, trusting relationships.
I have spent many years living and working in the United States, collaborating with local authorities, schools, and community clubs to develop programs that promote positive change in the lives of young people. Much of this work has focused on supporting neurodiverse young adults, helping them navigate challenges and build confidence in their own abilities. I’ve found that my ability to listen without judgment, maintain a calm and encouraging presence, and adapt to individual needs has been instrumental in creating safe and empowering environments.
As someone who is deeply self-motivated, I bring high energy and a proactive mindset to every role I undertake. I believe in the importance of leading by example—whether it’s encouraging a young person to try something new or simply showing up with kindness and consistency each day. I’m practical, organized, and fully committed to the dignity and independence of the individuals I support.
Now based in East Sussex, I am seeking to bring my skills, lived experience, and passion for care into a role where I can make a meaningful difference. I understand the local community, and I am enthusiastic about contributing to a service that values respect, inclusion, and compassion.
Key Skills & Attributes:
-
Extensive experience supporting neurodiverse young adults
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Positive, caring, and empathetic approach to care
-
Experience collaborating with community organizations and local authorities
-
Background in mentoring and behavior support
-
Highly self-motivated and reliable
-
Culturally aware and sensitive to individual needs
-
DBS-checked and committed to safeguarding practices (if applicable)
I would be honored to support individuals in East Sussex to lead fulfilling, independent lives and would welcome the opportunity to contribute to a team focused on genuine care and community development.
My names Tia, I’m 26 and I live with my Partner and 5 month old baby in Battle. I have a variety of hobbies and interests from mostly, singing Disney related theme songs to my Daughter to occasionally gaming on my Xbox.
I’m keen to commence a career in social care as I enjoyed personally assisting my Grandma with various functional, personal and domestic activities, however I require the time and patience to learn and develop as I’m Neurodivergent.
If you’re willing to give me a chance to ease myself back into work after an approximate 12 month hiatus, please do reach out and introduce yourself.
All the best,
Tia x
