PA profiles
Choice and control are at the heart of everything we do. Our personal assistant database directly connects Direct Payment employers with PAs who are available for work in your area.
By bringing together PAs and employers, we support people to live more independent lives. Search our database and take the first step towards finding your new PA today.
Use the filter on the left of the page to search profiles. Click on the PAs name to find out more about them and get in touch.
Please note: The personal assistants in our database are not employed or recommended by Independent Lives.
In most cases, personal assistants are required to pass a DBS check and reference checks before beginning employment, which Independent Lives can support you with.
To speak to a member of staff about any of the profiles listed on this site then please contact us by emailing recruitment@independentlives.org or by phoning 01903 219482 (option 4).

Experienced Support Worker/PA with a Passion for Caring
With nearly five years of professional experience in the care sector, I am a compassionate and enthusiastic support worker who is dedicated to providing exceptional care. I enjoy creating personalised care plans that centre around the individual's needs.
I have firsthand experience caring for a family member with complex medical issues and moderate learning disabilities from a young age.
I’m a fun bubbly PA that strives to make a safe happy environment to encourage self expression and personal growth.
I’m a fully qualified nurse with 18 years experience within the NHS. I am fully insured and DBS checked. I will be registering as self employed next after this.
I started my transition from the hospitality industry into health and social care in 2015.
My first role in social care was working in substance misuse and recovery pathways.
- Over the years I have worked passionately in Dementia and Autism services and have developed my training and qualifications to enhance my role as a personal assistant.
I believe I am a compassionate and kind individual and I love this work not only because of how I can benefit others but the joy it brings me every day! I think communication is incredibly important to allow every child to feel valued and understood even if they communicate differently to others.
Hi there :)
My name is Joanna and I work in a small care team of 4, including me, my mum, my brother and a close friend of ours.
I started working in care when I was 17 whilst I finished my studies, I then took a break and went travelling for a while. I've been working as a self employed carer with my team for the past year and it's been amazing. We have been able to connect deeply with our clients and offer the flexibility that big companies can't provide.
I'm quite a home body so spend a lot of my free time snuggling with my cats and dog and working on my art. I'm also really into languages; I'm fully bilingual in Spanish and I'm trying to learn French and Italian!
I have worked in the industry for 10 years, starting as a house keeper and working as a care assistant for the last 7 years. I also work as a well-being / activities assistant.
I believe people deserve the best care, person centred at whatever stage in their life.
I enjoy watching speedway, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
I’m new to working as a PA, prompted by my experience of supporting an older, disabled family member. I know the difference practical day-to-day help and creative problem-solving make in her life and would like to offer the same support to other people.
Although I’m open to all opportunities, I’d particularly enjoy working with older clients who are looking for an element of companionship as well as practical help at home and to get out and about. I would offer the same respectful, patient, discrete and reliable approach that I want for my own family member.
Before I started my family, I spent many years working in communications within a health charity, campaigning for access to specialised healthcare and on social and consumer affairs issues affecting disabled people. I worked closely with young disabled people affected by both visible and invisible disabilities and families affected by life-limiting health conditions in a position of trust, gaining insight into a wide range of challenging circumstances.
I’m committed to professional development and want to take up all relevant training opportunities to improve my care, alongside my work.
My interests are broad; I love learning new things, particularly about the history of places and people, as well as wildlife and the environment. I really enjoy meeting new people. Above all, I am a very family-orientated person and love nothing more than spending time out and about with my two young daughters and husband.
I have worked as a personal assistant for a private client in the past although my main career has been in administration.
I have 3 adult children and would now like to take on a role supporting others to live independently.
Yoga is my main passion alongside the gym ,trying to paddle board and walking my dogs. I have previously worked for The Child Support Agency and then in data for The Department for Transport. Working in a fast-paced role and managing my workload, I have developed strong organisational and listening skills. I can prioritise my work and problem-solve where needed.
Collecting information accurately was a must. This has enabled me to be a good communicator and interact easily with all age groups, face-to-face and over the telephone. Building rapport and listening enabled me to gather useful knowledge and share my findings during meetings with colleagues and peers.
I have attended many courses, including change management, data analysis, Excel training, safeguarding, and presentation training.
Confidentiality and data protection were legal requirements and I worked to these laws at all times. I frequently shared information within the department and discretion was an essential part of my role to enable the correct handling of sensitive client information.
I have a caring personality, can effectively listen, and understand the importance of showing patience and empathy.
I am positive, compassionate and motivated and I would like the chance to use my skills to help others.
I have worked in healthcare for most of my working life. I especially enjoy working with the elderly. I am passionate about helping people to stay as independent for as long as possible. I have a special interest in dementia and Alzheimer's and was my mum sole carer who suffered with Alzheimers.
I enjoy working as a PA, helping people to remain as healthy and independent is very rewarding.
I am patient, compassionate and treat everyone with dignity and respect.
I enjoy anything to do with animals, spending time walking in nature with my dog and volunteer for a dementia charity.
I am 24 years old and have worked in healthcare for 4-5 years. I enjoy working with someone where I can get a good routine going and creating wonderful relationships where we are both comfortable with each other. When I’m not working I look after my daughter who is 3 years old but when she’s in bed I like to read a lot and play some games with my friends.
