
Challenging Behaviour

This training will enable you to have an understanding of Challenging Behaviour and why it occurs, as well as giving you practicable steps to manage and cope with situations.
What will be covered?
The training will cover what behaviours can be defined as ‘challenging’ and explain the behaviour cycle that occurs. It will also cover the possible triggers and give you strategies to be able to support someone if their behaviour escalates. The training includes some real world examples so you can put your knowledge into practice. You will learn:
- What Challenging Behaviour is
- The stages of behaviour
- Possible triggers- including trauma informed practice
- De-escalation
- What to do if behaviour escalates
This training will be delivered in person, however it may be possible to attend online. Please email training@independentlives.org if you are interested in attending the course online.
Who is this course for?
This training is for personal assistants who are looking to gain essential knowledge to help them with their work.
Fully funded training
This course is fully funded for personal assistants who are employed by an individual employer receiving a Direct Payment
