Are you kind, calm, and looking for a role where you can make a real difference in someone’s life? We’re looking to build a small team of 6 to 8 PAs to support a friendly and sociable 30-year-old woman with severe learning disabilities and complex health needs, including well-managed epilepsy. She is non-verbal and needs support from people who can be patient, gentle, and consistent.
She enjoys a peaceful and joyful environment, loves long walks, baking, and spending time in the kitchen. Out in the community, she requires 2:1 support as she isn’t aware of danger or risks. At home, she likes to stay involved and active with everyday activities. We are looking for people who can help her feel safe, understood, and valued.
You’ll support her with personal care, meal preparation (including managing dietary intolerances), medication (training provided), and keeping her home environment organised. You’ll also help her take part in fun, meaningful activities—both at home and outside. Occasional night shifts may be needed, depending on availability.
Experience with Makaton, PECS, or other non-verbal communication methods is a bonus, but not essential. She will help guide you in learning how to communicate with her in ways that work best for her.
At least half the team must hold a valid UK driving licence, as driving is often needed to access community activities.
Full training is provided, including Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), epilepsy and rescue medication, and ongoing person-specific learning to help you feel confident and supported in your role.
If you are patient, compassionate, and ready to be part of something meaningful, we’d love to hear from you.
