I am a young man in my early twenties looking for a friendly, reliable and good-humoured Personal Assistant to support me with becoming more confident and independent in everyday life.
This is a varied and rewarding role. The aim is to help me develop my confidence and independence rather than to do things for me. Support may include helping me become more confident using public transport, developing my cooking skills, accessing local shops and activities more independently, and building my confidence with managing everyday life at home and in the community.
The role will also provide an opportunity for companionship and shared activities. I would particularly enjoy having someone to accompany me to places such as museums, the cinema and concerts, as well as helping me explore new places and experiences. I have a real interest in the wider world and would love to travel in the future and learn more about different cultures.
I have a wide range of interests, including computer gaming, history, music, building models, tabletop gaming and animals. I enjoy listening to all sorts of music and am particularly enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge and interests with people once I get to know them.
The ideal person will have a good sense of humour, be patient, friendly and approachable, and ideally have some similar interests. It would be great to find someone who genuinely enjoys having a conversation about hobbies and interests rather than expecting lots of small talk. I don't always find small talk easy, but once I get to know someone, I can happily talk for hours about the things I am passionate about!
I am a very intelligent person who knows a great deal about the world and my surroundings. I enjoy learning new things, discovering different cultures and talking about subjects that interest me.
You will need to be comfortable around dogs, as there is one dog in the household.
This is a non-personal-care role. The focus is on supporting confidence, independence, life skills, community access and companionship.
If you are reliable, positive, have a good sense of humour and think you could be a good match, I would love to hear from you.
