I am looking for a kind, patient and energetic Personal Assistant (PA)to support my son, who is a bright, cheeky and happy 7-year-old. He loves being active, especially running, climbing and playing football, and I want someone who can match his energy while building a positive and trusting relationship with him.
The role involves supporting him both at home and out and about, helping him enjoy activities he loves while keeping him safe. Some personal care is required, including support with using the toilet and with dressing and undressing, always carried out with dignity and sensitivity.
He can become overstimulated, particularly in busy or noisy environments, so I need someone calm and observant who can recognise when he is becoming overwhelmed and adapt accordingly. He has little awareness of danger and does not respond well to being told “no”, so a gentle, creative and proactive approach is really important.
We are a busy family home with his three brothers, as well as two cats and two dogs, so you will need to be comfortable in a lively household. I am looking for someone reliable, flexible and genuinely caring, who wants to make a positive difference in my son’s life.
Experience with children with additional needs is helpful, but just as important is having patience, a good sense of humour and a willingness to learn.
