Our customer has some health difficulties, including chronic fatigue syndrome, which can make managing everyday tasks more challenging. She would benefit from practical support within the home, as well as encouragement to help build her confidence and independence.
Building a positive and trusting relationship will be an important part of the role. She is looking for someone who is understanding, empathetic and patient, and having a good sense of humour would be particularly welcomed.
There are three children, twos dogs and two cats within the family, so applicants should be comfortable around both children and pets. It is particularly important that the successful applicant is patient, understanding and comfortable interacting with children.
Duties include:
- Supporting her to sort and organise belongings within the home
- Helping with paperwork, household administration and general organisation
- Supporting with preparing food and snacks in advance
- Providing practical support with everyday tasks
- Encouraging and supporting her to build confidence and independence
Candidate qualities:
The ideal person will be friendly, approachable and able to listen to what support is needed. They should be able to work alongside her at a pace that is manageable for her, offering encouragement and practical assistance without taking over.
