Term Time: 6 hours per week, to be worked over the weekend School Holidays: 15 hours per week (flexible days to be agreed)

Hourly pay rate:

£13 per hour

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Personal Assistant (PA) with experience in supporting individuals with epilepsy.

The role involves supporting a fun and energetic 17-year-old who enjoys being outdoors and engaging in community activities such as walking, gardening, and golf. They also enjoy indoor activities including puzzles, marble runs, and building with LEGO.

The individual has Dravet Syndrome, a rare, drug-resistant form of epilepsy. Due to this condition, they also experience autism, learning difficulties, and restricted mobility. They can understand verbal instructions and respond well to familiar routines. Communication is primarily through spoken language using repetitive short phrases to make requests.

Mobility support is required, as the individual can walk short distances but needs a wheelchair for longer periods. Constant 1:1 support is necessary due to epilepsy, limited danger awareness, and mobility needs.

Duties include:

  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Moving and handling
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Transportation
  • Companionship

  • Driving licence and use a car desirable

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
