I am a woman in my 40s with MS. I live with my son and husband, and our pet cat.
I am a friendly person, with a good sense of humour. I like to see the brighter side of life and laugh at things when they invariably go wrong. I am a glass half full kind of person. Where there's a will, there is a way!
I am looking for a female PA with a similar outlook on life to help me lead an independent life. I will need help with personal care and getting into bed one evening a week and the weekend.
I am a power wheelchair user and use a hoist to transfer, so knowledge and experience would be necessary. I am very independent and like to do as much as I can, and be involved.
I currently have two other PAs that help with four evenings per week and every morning. It would be really good for you to join the team, so that I am fully covered for all shifts, every morning and every night, and hopefully you can cover each other.
Duties include:
- Catheter care
Candidate qualities:
- A good sense of humour
- Able to work efficiently
Additional requirements
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.
