Personal Assistant


I need a person who can initiate creative activities

I have a mild disability and epilepsy.

I need support when out and about and help with light domestic duties

I require a driver and a mobility car is available

Epilepsy training will be organized

Duties include:

  • Housekeeping
  • Shopping
  • Cooking
  • Transportation
  • Companionship
  • Dressing / undressing
  • Other relevant duties as required

Additional Duties:

Help with Laundry, hanging out to dry and putting away
Changing bed linen
Support with washing, drying and brushing hair
Support choosing appropriate clothing for weather
• Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
Supervision and/or assistance with hair washing/ brushing as required
To be on call when employer takes bath
General hair care
Ability to initiate, plan and assist with exciting art, craft and baking activities
Driving and accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities, including horse riding, art classes, bowling, cinema and meeting up with friends
Support with preparing lunch and occasionally an evening meal

Candidate qualities:

  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Able to work on own initiative


Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
