Hours per week:
10am - 4pm on Saturday = 6 hours Shifts are flexible and be discussed at interview. Additional hours may be available during school holidays.
Hourly pay rate:
£11 per hour
I am a looking for a personal assistant to support my 11 year old son to be active and access the community in a safe way. My son is happy and bouncy, he loves going swimming, visiting the park and beach, going to flip out and soft play.
My son has autism and is non verbal and has additional needs. The successful applicant will be kind and patient, as there may be occasions when his behaviour is challenging. Personal care will also need to be provided within this role, especially when out and about. Occasionally you will need to work on a 2:1 basis with my son.
A driver is required for this role and must have access to their own vehicle, this is so you can take my son to the activities he enjoys.
The rate of pay is £11.00 per hour and you will be fully supported by the family for the first few weeks whilst training is provided.
Duties include:
- Support with toileting when out and about
- Change pads when required
- Supervise hand washing and support to keep clean
- Support with undressing and dressing after swimming
Accompany and support my son to access his community, including:
going swimming
- visiting the park and
- visiting the beach,
- going to flip out
- going to soft play
Candidate qualities:

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
