Hours per week:

Friday evening (Start time to be discussed) until Monday morning 8am (with two 5-hour breaks on Sat & Sun Morning) This would be every other weekend.

Hourly pay rate:

£11.00-day rate £9.50 night rate (sleeping nights)

I am Tetraplegic/Quadriplegic CS spinal cord injury
I am down to earth and enjoy life
This is a rewarding role with training provided
I like to get out at times but also have days where I can be unexplainably fatigued and need quiet restful days. I have an enjoyable life with my friends, family, carers and dogs and am looking for someone who can fit in and enjoy their position with us. My medical needs are not complicated and all training can be given.

Duties include:

  • Housekeeping
  • Shopping
  • Cooking
  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Moving and handling
  • Other relevant duties as required

Additional Duties:

Accompanying to any social events/appointments
Assistance getting in and out of wheelchair
Putting to bed
Stoma and catheter care (Nurses change catheter)
General hair and skin care
Possible assistance needed transferring from wheelchair to car and out of car. Accompanying to social events/appointments

Candidate qualities:

  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Must be comfortable with pets
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Able to cook a meal
Must be punctual and reliable

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position you will be employed directly by the individual employer and not Independent Lives. Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
