Hours per week:

15 - 16 hours per week. Wednesday and Thursday 9:30am- 1pm. I also require cover on Sunday from approx 10am-2pm, but this is flexible and can be discussed. There may also be the opportunity for shifts on Saturdays, which can be discussed.

Hourly pay rate:

£12.21 per hour

I am looking for a personal assistant to assist my husband. He is a 69 year old male with an acquired brain injury following a heart attack at 46. He has poor mobility and orientation difficulties, he has lost his peripheral vision and has limited short term memory. He can be verbally challenging, but is good humoured!

Duties include:

  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Personal grooming
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Housekeeping
  • Cooking
  • Companionship
  • Dressing / undressing

  • Transportation duties - depending on PA driver status

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • Must be comfortable with pets – dogs and cat
  • Driver with own vehicle would be an advantage, but is not essential

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
