We are looking for a caring, fun and reliable Personal Assistant to support a sweet, chilled and cheerful 20-year-old autistic young adult who is non-verbal, has a great laugh, can scream when she's unhappy and is also a part-time wheelchair user.
They enjoy CBeebies, Barney, Mr Tumble, listening to nursery rhymes and would love to go swimming, visiting cafés for a drink and do some people-watching.
The ideal PA will be flexible, young at heart, and experienced in supporting non-verbal individuals. Creativity, patience and good communication skills are essential, along with the ability to fit into a busy family home.
Support is required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, as they attend a group on Mondays and Fridays.

Duties include:

  • Personal grooming
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Shopping
  • Transportation
  • Companionship
  • Dressing / undressing
  • Bathroom assistance

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Must be comfortable with pets
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • 2 dogs in the property
