We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and reliable Personal Assistant team to support an outgoing, bubbly and creative 29-year-old woman who lives at home with her family but has aspirations to move into her own home in the future.
She has epilepsy and cerebral palsy and is an ambulatory manual wheelchair user. While her disabilities are part of her life, they do not define who she is. She enjoys an full life, values her independence and likes to make the most of every opportunity.
The successful candidates will form a positive and supportive team, providing encouragement, supervision and assistance where required to help her maintain and develop her independence and confidence. We are looking for someone with a flair for organised spontaneity who can support her to enjoy activities, access the community and embrace the good days to their fullest.
A friendly, person-centred approach is essential. First aid training, particularly relating to post-seizure care, and experience supporting people with epilepsy or cerebral palsy would be desirable. Above all, we are seeking someone who is positive, proactive and passionate about helping people live full and meaningful lives.
