I am a 60-year-old gentleman living in a comfortable two-bedroom bungalow in Burgess Hill. As a wheelchair user and stroke survivor, I am looking for a kind, patient, and reliable Personal Assistant to support me during my full-time carers’ daily breaks. No previous experience is required—what matters most is a calm nature, a positive attitude, and plenty of patience.
The role involves working 2 hours per day, 4 days a week, across Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. The exact timing and distribution of hours can be flexible to suit both of us, making this an ideal opportunity for someone seeking part-time work with adaptability.
During these periods, your duties will include light domestic tasks, preparing and serving simple snacks and drinks, and assisting with everyday personal care. You will also be present while I spend time on my hobby—working on my extensive collection of WW1 postcards, songs, and hymn series —so an interest in history or simply a willingness to engage and provide good company would be lovely. I also enjoy football, shopping online on eBay, visiting family and friends and local events.
This is a relaxed and supportive environment where your role will make a genuine difference in maintaining my independence and daily routine. If you are dependable, considerate, and happy to lend a helping hand, I would be very pleased to hear from you.
Duties include:
- Prepare and serve snacks and drinks
Candidate qualities:
- Must be comfortable with pets as I have a young Labrador (dog walking not needed)
- Previous experience preferred, but not essential as a kind and common sense approach is more important to these roles
- Driving License highly desirable
Additional requirements
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours, Vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission
