We are looking for a kind, encouraging, and reliable PA to support a warm-hearted and friendly man on a 1:1 basis in his own home. This is a rewarding and meaningful role where no two days are the same, and your support can make a real difference.

The role is based in a lovely, self-contained bungalow on family grounds, offering a peaceful and supportive environment. While his family are close by, he lives independently, and the aim of the role is to promote and encourage that independence as much as possible.

The gentleman you’ll be supporting has an acquired brain injury, which presents in varying degrees of disability. He is verbal and enjoys good conversation, especially around two of his favourite things – food and music! You would support him with day-to-day living, including making his breakfast, snacks, and light lunches (dinner is enjoyed with his family). Flexibility is key, as routines may vary and needs may shift slightly from day to day.

You'll be part of a small, dedicated team and benefit from the ongoing support of a close-knit and welcoming family who treat carers as part of their extended family. While you’ll have your own space, there’s a strong sense of teamwork and community on the property.

Nights/other hours may occasionally be required, and someone with a flexible attitude would thrive here. A full UK driving licence is essential, as you may need to drive his manual vehicle. He’s also in the process of re-joining a local gym, so someone with an interest in light fitness or active outings would be a great match.

If you’re compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting someone to live as independently as possible, we’d love to hear from you.

This is not just a job – it’s an opportunity to build a genuinely rewarding connection and make a lasting impact in someone’s daily life.

Duties include:

  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Housekeeping
  • Cooking
  • Transportation
  • Companionship
  • Dressing / undressing
  • Bathroom assistance

  • Personal care involves prompting and guiding him to do tasks himself, offering encouragement and support when needed.
  • He is able to get around, but sometimes may need some occasional help with balance or walking, so support should be given to keep him steady and safe.

Candidate qualities:

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

  • Family dog visits regularly, so someone who is comfortable with dogs would be desirable
  • Encouraging

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
