I am looking for a carer to help my son, happy young boy. He has diagnoses of:
- Severe Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Severe Speech Delay
- ADHD
- Sensory impairment / PICA
- Global Developmental Delay
- Learning disability.
- Behavioural and Sleep Issues.
He is a very energetic child who loves being indoors at home, out in the car, or out with nature. He gets very overwhelmed when it is busy, with crowds, noise, smells, or just people. He tends to lash out when he is overwhelmed or triggered by slapping, kicking, throwing himself down, or trying to abscond.
He has no road sense, safety sense. He doesn't have any spatial awareness. He loves water-play, swimming, play-dough, lego, building blocks, cutting up Velcro fruit and magnets. He communicates through hand-guiding or bringing items to you.
He requires assistance when eating, drinking and toileting.
He loves jumping on his trampoline, and vocally and physically stims. Loves squeezes and being tickled.
He requires assistance 24/7 due to self injurious behaviours such as:
- Hand biting
- Head banging
- head slapping
He doesn't regulate his emotions which lead to these behaviours.
I am looking for a friend to either stay at the home with him, or help him access the community such as swimming, soft play, and days out as a family with more support.
Duties include:
- Assisting in the community
