About me

Hello everyone! I am Sophie and am based in Eastbourne.

I have worked in health and social care for almost ten years and qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in 2023. My motivation to work as a Personal Assistant comes from a genuine passion for person-centred care and helping people maintain or promote their independence. I find it deeply rewarding to build trusting relationships, offer consistent support, and make a positive difference in someone’s daily life whether that’s through emotional support, practical assistance, or simply being a friendly presence.

I take great pride in the work I do and am committed to providing a person-centred approach. I believe in treating every person I support as an individual by demonstrating compassion, kindness and respect, always striving to support people to the best of my ability and make a positive difference in their lives.

I love spending time outdoors and exploring new places across the UK in my campervan with my partner. I also enjoy solo weekend trips around Europe, discovering new cities and cultures. Family and friends are a big part of my life. I am a huge dog lover too!

My experience

As a Mental Health Nurse I have gained valuable clinical knowledge working in acute psychiatric wards and as an assessor for a wide range of health conditions. Additionally, I have experience working as a support worker and carer in a variety of settings including residential and home support for adults and children with autism, learning disabilities and complex physical health needs. I have previously worked in care homes and dementia care, and offering mental health support, including de-escalating individuals in crisis. I have personal assistant experience throughout this time which has contributed to developing strong communication and person-centred care skills.
