About me
Hello, I’m someone who genuinely enjoys supporting people to live the life they want, with dignity, confidence, and a sense of independence. I’ve worked in health and social care for over 12 years, supporting adults and young people with a wide range of mental health needs, learning disabilities, and everyday challenges. What matters most to me is building trusting relationships, listening without judgement, and being a reliable, calm presence in someone’s life. A professional friend.
My experience ranges from community mental health work to crisis support and recovery-focused roles, and I’ve also worked as a Team Leader in a children’s residential home. I have also supported a young lady with Autism through Independent lives until she transitioned to Adult services.. These roles have taught me the importance of patience, understanding, and tailoring support to each person as an individual.
I’m friendly, practical, and down-to-earth, and I approach my work with kindness and a good sense of humour. Outside of work I love cooking, I’m a trained chef! I enjoy learning about nutrition, keeping active, gardening, dancing, golf, and spending time outdoors or travelling.
If you’re looking for someone supportive, respectful, and committed to helping you feel more confident in your daily life, I’d be very happy to help.

My experience
Alongside my work in health and social care, I bring a wide range of additional experience that has shaped my approach to supporting others. Before moving fully into care, I spent many years in hospitality and business management, running cafés and restaurants, managing staff teams, and providing high-quality customer service. I also have experience in administration and bookkeeping, which strengthened my organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
I previously served as a Military Policewoman in the TA, completing residential service in Bosnia. This role taught me resilience, reliability, and how to stay calm and focused in challenging situations, as well as building strong teamwork and leadership skills. I also managed catering within my unit, which developed my planning, safety awareness, and ability to run a team efficiently.
Through my years working in mental health services, I’ve built strong knowledge of benefits, housing support, financial budgeting, and the various agencies and community networks that people often rely on. I’m familiar with signposting, advocating, and helping people navigate systems so they can access the right support at the right time.
These combined experiences help me offer practical, compassionate, and well-informed support as a Personal Assistant, with a calm and adaptable approach to each person’s needs.
Training
Alongside my hands-on roles in health and social care, I have completed a wide range of professional training that supports my ability to provide safe, confident, and high-quality care. I hold a Diploma of Higher Education (completed in 2023), as well as Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care. I have also completed extensive mandatory training through my current and previous roles, including First Aid, Health and Safety, Infection Control, Manual Handling, Data Protection, Trauma-Informed Practice, Suicide First Aid, and training around Neurodiversity and Complex Emotional Needs.
This ongoing learning has strengthened my understanding of best practice, safeguarding, communication, and person-centred support, and it helps me to feel fully prepared and confident when meeting the needs of the people I work with
