About me

I am a friendly, trustworthy, and highly organised Personal Assistant offering flexible support for everyday life. Whether that’s home help, companionship, pet sitting, personal care, light gardening, transportation or just support in many aspects of the home.

With over six years of self-employed experience, I take pride in helping people feel more comfortable, relaxed, and in control of their surroundings. Clients describe me as calm, reliable, and resourceful – someone who gets things done with care and attention to detail.

Now newly based in St. Leonards-on-Sea, I am building a fresh client base and look forward to supporting local households with dependable, personalised support and assistance.

When I’m not working, I love to cook, garden, grow veg and have recently joined some volunteer schemes in St Leonards supporting green issues.

My experience

Before becoming self-employed, I worked as a domiciliary carer within the community and later as a support worker for young adults with learning difficulties. Prior to this, I had a successful career in the corporate world, working in the medical insurance industry. My work took me around the globe, and I was fortunate to live in several different countries, gaining valuable life and cultural experiences.

My career change was prompted by a personal family illness—an experience that reshaped my priorities and led me to care work. It was, without doubt, the best decision I’ve made. Since then, I’ve never looked back. I’ve found great fulfilment in supporting individuals and families, and I now enjoy the flexibility that comes with being self-employed.

I have experience in a wide range of care, including personal care, medication administration, and support for individuals with Parkinson’s, early-onset dementia, and Alzheimer’s. I’m deeply committed to ensuring that people have the freedom to make their own choices, and I’m a strong advocate for those who may need a voice.

Whether I’m providing companionship, personal care, or simply helping with household tasks, I take pride in everything I do. No job is off limits—and everything is done with care, compassion, and a smile.

I have experience in:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Down's syndrome
  • Early-stage dementia
  • Incontinence
  • Learning disability
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder
  • Parkinson's disease

Training

When I began working in domiciliary care and as a support worker, I undertook a wide range of training courses, all of which were regularly updated during my employment. I also started working towards the Care Certificate; however, once I transitioned to self-employment, it was no longer a formal requirement as I was not working within a regulated care setting.

That said, I’m always open to updating my training and am happy to complete relevant courses in my own time if needed. My strengths lie in my real-world experience, a practical and common-sense approach, and the ability to work both logically and compassionately. I believe that good care goes beyond certificates—it’s about treating people with dignity, respect, and genuine kindness.
