About me
Hi! I’m a friendly, funny, and highly organized personal assistant with a caring nature and a patient approach. I pride myself on being inclusive and adaptable, with hands-on experience supporting autistic adults, disabled children, and people living with dementia. Whether you need a calm presence, a good laugh, or reliable help with daily tasks, I’m here to make life a little easier—and a lot more enjoyable.
My experience
I have 20 years hands on experience caring for my daughter who has complex health and educational needs, including a PEG, epilepsy, physical disability, incontinence, communication difficulties and learning a disability.
I am competent using a hoist and manual handling. This includes all aspects of personal care.
I have supported my elderly Mother who has Dementia for the past 2 years and prior to this a young man with Autism. I was able to support them to get out into the community and remain independent where possible.
I am confident with all forms of communication and will use Makaton or signs where necessary.
Training
I have completed training in Makaton, Supporting & Caring for People with Epilepsy with Epilepsy Action , Yoga Teacher Training, PEG training with Bristol Children’s Hospital, Dysphagia Training with Wiltshire Health, Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning with Wiltshire College and Autism training with The National College.
NB I am due to update my general first aid training shortly.
All other training is through experience
